Camel Safari in Rajasthan

Camel Safari in Rajasthan

Deserts are the main highlights of Rajasthan and the best way to experience this beauty with ease is camel safari. Tourists from all over the world come here to see the forts and heritage sites of this place.
...The best places for Camel safari in Rajasthan are Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Pushkar, and Bikaner. Those who want to enjoy the desert landscape in peace and quiet they should head to the dunes near Khuri village. These are lesser-known but also the most stunning sand dunes around Jaisalmer. While doing a camel safari here, you can experience the rustic desert life up-close, as the village is home to mud and straw huts and the village folks prefer living the traditional way. Camel safari tour in Bikaner lets you pass through the tiny settlements in the area, including Naukh, Baru, Tadana, Kanasar, and Mohangarh, among others. Camel safari tour can also be done in and around Jodhpur. One of the best spots here is Osian, an ancient town located in the Thar desert. For a lively camel safari tour experience, visit Pushkar during the Pushkar Camel Fair, which is an annual camel and livestock fair that goes on for five days. A camel ride here takes you to the tiny hamlets in the area where you meet the indigenous tribes and know about the rustic way of living.
The best season for a camel safari in Rajasthan is September to March. Camel safari is nothing less than an exciting, thrilling and an altogether fabulous way to get a taste of the rural desert life as well as immerse in the local culture.
One can experience a fun and exciting camel ride in desert safari and can explore the deep caverns of the golden deserts of Rajasthan, the ruined temple of Mata Mandir, teeming with paintings and statues of Hindu deities in various poses. Next, you can head off to conquer the vast open spaces of the desert. Then you can drive across shifting sand dunes, forever changing form in accordance with the direction of the wind and visit local villages where whitewashed buildings with colorful doors set beneath flowing thatch roofs are lined up along beaten dirt roads. You can interact with the local people and find out more about their desert culture, religion and way of life. There are many more sights that one can enjoy here and the simplicity of the desert and the sheer beauty that lies in its dunes will take you to a whole new world away from the noise of city life.
The best time for the Rajasthan camel safari tour is October to March. It's possible that one can go on a quick camel safari and return on the same day. However, most of the people prefer to go deeper into the desert for a few days. Many choose the overnight option as well, which is sensible as it can become monotonous otherwise. This consists of riding the camel into the desert, watching the sunset, star gazing, having dinner, waking up for sunrise, and then riding back. Desert sunsets and sunrises are pretty darn spectacular.

One of the most adventurous and fun things I did in Jaisalmer when I first moved there, was the desert safari. Anyone traveling to Jaisalmer will hear about the desert safaris and that’s because it’s well worth the money.

The camel safari was really good in the presence of some camel expert and guide. I enjoyed my few hours of camel ride. Food, drinks and hygiene tips were good. The guide will explain to you everything that he knows and makes you more comfortable during the trip. It was a nice experience; I will recommend this trip around the villages to feel it.

It was really enjoyable to go on a camel safari in Jaisalmer during the month of November when it is not hot and winter is just setting in, Beautiful sand dunes and camels walking behind one-another and night camp-fires and tent with local music and food are an experience worth remembering.

I did the half-day and night safari in Pushkar. It was a wonderful and unique experience for me. The guides were very nice and helpful. We rode the camel to go to the camp at night where we ate with the guides and sleep at stars. I recommend everyone to definitely need to do it once when they visit Rajasthan.
