Hawa Mahal is a beautiful five-storey palace located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, which was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh who belonged to Kachhwaha Rajput dynasty. It was built for the royal women to enjoy the events and festivals in the street. The Architectural Style of this palace was blended with Hindu Rajput architecture and the Islamic Mughal architecture. The palace is open every day for visitors from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Hawa Mahal is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Jaipur and a prominent landmark of the city that is renowned for its rich cultural and architectural history. Through the palace the honeycomb-shaped and beautifully carved windows allow the breeze to blow and make it a perfect summer palace. It was built as an extension to the City Palace nearby. The mahal has a total of 953 small casements each with small lattice worked pink window, balconies and arched roofs with hanging cornices. This allows cool breeze blows through the mahal and keeps it cool and airy in summer. Despite a large number of windows, each of them is in the size of a peephole such that the royal ladies were not to be seen by the public.
